Manchester Course
The 2012 Manchester event linked 2 dramatically different venues on a traffic-free running route: The urban spaces and stadia of Sport City and the urban-oasis of Phillips Park and Clayton Vale. It's a race of 2 halves, with Sport City offering up monster obstacle rigs from the Survival engineers amongst an uber-urban backdrop; and the Park featuring a fair chunk of mud, sweat and tears. Plus the odd soaking.

There was 15 zones in total - each packing multiple obstacles and some harbouring as many as 10 different pieces of equipment for you to tackle. Some of these you might have seen or heard of before:

The Army Assault Course
The Parkour Zone
The Mighty Hay Bale Wall
The now-infamous MH Wall of Fame as your final reckoning, inches from the finish line.

They created some totally new and gigantic set-piece encounters here, to reflect Manchester's industrial past and to blow their supporters away as they saw them tackling these beasts.
They were able to trace their progress through the course by KM markers positioned every kilometre.  There were some "mini" obstacles thrown in along the route, out-with the main stations, to keep them on their toes. These were little stocking-fillers for them . And the obstacle zone themselves - They expected between 1 and 10 pieces of equipment to tackle within each zone - that was approximately 50 obstacles in total!
